Pilgrimage Rescheduled:   May 5-18, 2027

We have rescheduled:  The Hamas/Israel war, followed by the wider regional conflict involving Iran, made travel in the area impossible. As a result, we have had to postpone and re-plan the pilgrimage several times — first from 2024 to 2025, then to 2026, and now to May 2027. This has certainly involved inconvenience and disappointment for those who hoped to travel sooner. Yet our inconvenience is very small compared with the profound suffering these events have brought to the peoples of the Holy Land.

We are encouraged by signs that the situation may be easing, and we continue to hope that the coming year will bring greater stability. We pray for a just and lasting peace, so that Jews, Muslims, and Christians may dwell side by side in the land where these faiths were born. May the Prince of Peace bring about an enduring season of peace.
Pilgrimage deepens faith, strengthens our understanding of Scripture in its geographical and historical context, and builds relationships across the Body of Christ. Christian pilgrimage also contributes in a meaningful way to the economic well-being of the peoples of the Holy Land, including many local Christian families whose livelihoods depend on hospitality and tourism. We trust that our plans for May 2027 will be able to go forward, while recognizing that the safety of pilgrims must always come first.

We are now well placed for May 2027. We are scheduled to fly to Tel Aviv on the evening non-stop flight on May 5, 2027, and we have reserved rooms at two excellent hotels: the Golan Hotel in Tiberias and the Golden Walls Hotel in Jerusalem.
Holding these rooms is important. Once travel to the region resumes more fully, many pilgrimage groups and tour operators will be trying to rebook.

Reserve Now
We expect strong demand for hotel space in spring 2027, especially after several years of postponed travel. We saw something similar after the Covid-19 pandemic: when travel resumed, the number of pilgrims visiting the Holy Land increased very quickly.

Booking early for 2027 is important.
At present, we hold a block of 20 rooms, enough for a group of about 30 pilgrims. Once we have enough confirmed participants to fill these rooms, we can request additional rooms, subject to availability. However, it is not always possible to secure extra rooms later.   We can only hold this block of rooms for a limited time before paying a deposit. Therefore, if you think you may wish to be part of this pilgrimage, the next steps are:
  1. Subscribe to our mailing list/newsletter.
  2. Fill out an Application/Registration form
  3. Send a deposit of US$250 or CA$325, whichever is easier for you.
  • Cheques should be made payable to Trinity Tour.
  • Interac e-Transfers in Canadian dollars may be sent to:  hodge.v@trinitytour.org
  • Your deposit enables us to reserve a room in your name and guarantee your place in the pilgrimage group.
  • Please note: If Trinity Tour cancels the pilgrimage, your deposit will be fully refunded. If you cancel your own participation, the deposit is forfeited.

Join us for 12-15 Days in the Holy Land

Living Stones Pilgrimage

May 5–18, 2027
  • The primary pilgrimage tour.
  • Walk in the footsteps of Jesus and his disciples in the land where our faith was born.
  • Join Canon Vicars Hodge and Archbishop David Edwards for a comprehensive 13-day / 12-night pilgrimage through the principal Christian holy sites of the lands of the Bible. Discover for yourself why St. Jerome called the Holy Land the “Fifth Gospel.”
  • Our pilgrimage will include time in Galilee, Caesarea, Nazareth, Cana, the Dead Sea, Jerusalem, Jericho, and Bethlehem, along with many of the places where the stories of Scripture come alive in a fresh and unforgettable way.
  • Along the journey, pilgrims will also have opportunities to meet, worship with, and learn from local Christian believers and ministries — the “living stones” of the Holy Land today.
The pilgrimage includes:
  • Expert local guides and biblical interpretation throughout the journey
  • Teaching and spiritual leadership from Canon Vicars Hodge and Archbishop David Edwards
  • Headsets for all pilgrims, making it easy to hear the guides and leaders
  • Deluxe Wi-Fi-equipped motor coach transportation
  • All meals and tips
  • Carefully chosen hotels for comfort, facilities, and location
  • Accommodation at the Golan Hotel in Tiberias and the Golden Walls Hotel in Jerusalem
This pilgrimage is designed to deepen faith, strengthen understanding of Scripture in its historical and geographical context, and build fellowship among pilgrims as we journey together through the land of the Bible.

Jerusalem Extension

    May 18-20, 2027
  • Highly Recommended Extension
  • After the main pilgrimage concludes, many of our groups choose to remain in Jerusalem for this relatively low-cost two-night extension. It is a wonderful opportunity to slow down, breathe a little, and explore more deeply.
  • One could easily spend a month in the Holy City. Three thousand years of biblical history are here to see, ponder, and absorb. This extension gives pilgrims two additional days and nights in Jerusalem “at leisure,” with time to rest, shop, wander, pray, or visit a few more significant sites.
  • During these days, pilgrims may choose to set out on their own or join Archbishop David Edwards and Canon Vicars Hodge as they visit additional places in and around the Old City and return to others at a more reflective pace.
  • Possible activities may include walking the walls of the Old City, exploring the colourful souks, visiting the Pool of Siloam, seeing the Western Wall Tunnels, or, for the adventurous, walking through Hezekiah’s Tunnel. There will also be opportunities simply to linger in the Old City, revisit favourite places from the main pilgrimage, enjoy unhurried conversation, and take in the unique atmosphere of Jerusalem.
  • This extension is not a second formal tour with a bus and guide. Rather, it is a relaxed and flexible opportunity to enjoy Jerusalem more fully, with experienced pilgrimage leaders available to accompany those who wish to continue exploring together.

Administration:
Registrar for our Pilgrimage is Jenna Kimbo (Carole & Vicars' daughter).  She is responsible for hotel reservations, rooming lists, coordination of flights, entry visas, and other administration.

Limited Group Size:  Our group size is limited by two factors:
Bus Space
We usually use a standard motor coach with a capacity of 45.

On our larger pilgrimages we have used an  "oversize" coach with seating for 54 passengers including leaders.

Coach size sets the "upper limit" on number of participants.
Hotel Room Availability:
We presently hold a block of 20 hotel rooms - enough rooms for the first 30 pilgrims who register.   Once this block is filled, we will request more rooms, subject to availability.  As long as hotels have space, we can add new registrations.  Unfortunately, the better hotels fill up in the Holy Land and we sometimes disappoint people who seek to register late.  Last pilgrimage we had to close our list at 47 as no further rooms could be had.

So, the bottom line is this, if you want to go, register early.    Even if you are not absolutely certain -- you can reserve.  All you risk is the deposit.

To be kept up to date please subscribe to our newsletter and you will get our periodic updates as our plans develop.
