Easter Greeting
The Paschal (Easter season) greeting is heard around the world in many languages.
Greeting: Christ is Risen.
Reply: He is Risen Indeed.
You don't often hear this exchange in Canada, except as a "Liturgical Greeting" at the beginning of Easter season worship.
Palestinian Christians use the Arabic form of this greeting throughout the Easter season -- whoever they meet one another. It is a small indication of how precious their faith is to the the Christians of the Middle East. Living under constant pressure as a minority, they treasure the Resurrection of Jesus. I suggest our pilgrims try to memorize this exchange (in Arabic) as a small gesture of faithful solidarity.
:
Greeting: Al Masih Kam (Christ is Risen)
