Easter Greeting
The Paschal (Easter season) greeting is heard around the world in many languages. In English we say:
Greeting: Christ is Risen.
Reply: He is Risen Indeed.
In Canada, you don't hear this often, except as a "Liturgical Greeting" -- during the season -- with the "Alleluia" added.
Palestinian Christians greet each other on the street and in the marketplace with this greeting in Arabic. You hear it everywhere. It is a small indication of how precious their faith is to the Christians of the Middle East. Living as a minority and under constant pressure, they treasure the Resurrection of Jesus.
