Electricity

The electric current in Middle East is 220 volts AC, single phase, 50 Hertz.
Most local sockets are of the three-pronged variety but most can accept some European two-pronged plugs as well. Electric shavers, traveling irons and other small appliances may require adapters and/or transformers which can be easily purchased. Hotels often supply adapters but if you have your own, bring it.
In Israel & Palestine the plugs/sockets are pretty much standard 3 Pin type “H” (as shown in the photo at left) but most of these receptacles accept the usual 2 pin European plug, type “C”.
In Jordan - there seems to be a "use whatever is handy" approach when it comes to electrical wiring. You never know what sockets you will find. Of course, all are 220 V. The majority are type C or Type H plugs (European round 2 or 3 pins). But sometimes find British "G" plugs (3 square pins) as well.
