Our Itinerary:  The Big Picture

The map at left will orient you to the major sections of our pilgrimage.  (Note:  The map at left outlines our 2022 itinerary ... the 2023 map will be posted in December.  The tour will be quite similar.)   Here is the big picture:

 1. Living Stones Pilgrimage:   We fly as a group, departing from Toronto in the afternoon of Monday, May 1, 2023.  The non-stop flights arrive the next day, May 2.  On arrival, we are met by our local guide and transfer to The Golan Hotel in Tiberias -- overlooking the Sea of Galilee.

The Red Line on the map outlines some of our route through Israel and Palestine during the primary tour.  On May 3 we begin touring with the Golan Hotel, Tiberias as our home base.  Each day we will visit Holy Sites in the Galilee region with time spent in Capernaum, Magdala, Nazareth, Cana, Mt. Tabor, Mt. Carmel and Caesarea Philippi, many other sites in the north of Israel. We will cross the Sea of Galilee on a boat.

On May 6 we make our way south through the area once called Samaria to Jerusalem. On the way we visit the Ruins of Samaria and Jacob's Well at Schechem.  In Jerusalem we check into the Golden Walls Hotel -- across the street from the Damascus Gate -- which will be our base for the rest of our pilgrimage.  From here we make day trips to visit Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the Judean Desert, Jericho, Hebron, and other sites.   On May 14, 2023 the Living Stones Pilgrimage ends and some of our group will fly home to Toronto.  Most of the group usually stays for the two extra days of the Jerusalem extension.  Click for Prices and Detailed Itinerary.

3. Jerusalem Extension:  The idea of the Jerusalem Extension is that once you are already in Jerusalem, the cost of staying on a couple extra days is really quite nominal.  During the Jerusalem extension, you can shop, wander around the Old City at your own pace, or follow Bishop Terry and Vicars as they continue to explore, albeit at a deliberately slower pace. We then depart for Canada on May 16, 2022. (Some will instead stay on and spend the next 5 days in Jordan.)

3. Jordan Extension:  You are invited to join us for  the final 5 days/5 nights visiting some of the important sites in the Kingdom of Jordan.  Canon Vicars will lead this extension.  We visit Biblical and world heritage sites in Jordan over the next 5 days.  The black line traces our route.  On May 16 we set out from Jerusalem by motor coach, proceeding south through the Negev Desert with stops to overlook Beersheba, at Tzin Overlook, and and we drive through the Ramon Crater.  In the afternoon we cross the border from Israel into Jordan at Wadi Araba just north of the Gulf of Aquaba. There we are met by our Jordanian guide and proceed through the ancient land once called Edom to the famous site of Petra.  We check in to our hotel at Petra where dinner and a relaxing evening awaits.  We spend a full day on May 17 touring the breathtaking site of Petra (the ancient city of the Nabateans).  Petra is on the UN List of World Heritage sites. On the next day we visit the Crusader period castle stronghold of Kerak and drive on to Madaba.  There we see the famous Byzantine Mosaic Map and other sites.  We check in at our 4 Star Hotel in Amman.  On May 19 we tour the extensive Roman ruins of Jerash and visit Mt. Nebo where Moses stood to look over the Jordan into the Promised Land.  On May 20 we fly home from Amman to Toronto.  (Click for Details)
